HEC & the Farmers Market

Farmers’ Market - Old Ellicott City

In addition to the numerous preservation initiatives HEC, Inc. leads and participates in, we are a continued supporter of local events such as the Old Ellicott City Farmers’ Market commencing the weekend of May 23, 2026, 9am-1pm, which is supervised by the Ellicott City Partnership.

Beginning in 2025 and being held at Tiber Park across the street from our first preservation project, The Ellicott City B & O Train Museum, the Farmers’ Market brings new life into the area where long time business once stood. Now local farmers bring their fruits and vegetables as well as baked goods to market for the public to enjoy on Saturdays beginning May 23, 2026.

Once again, HEC, Inc. has added its logo to the market bags sold at the entrance. You will need one once you realize the multitude of local produce and other goodies, you’ll be tempted to pick up! This is just one of the ways we engage with the community to keep our town humming along. This past Christmas season we supported with a generous contribution the Light Up Ellicott City initiative also overseen by ECP.

Over the years we have partnered with businesses, other non-profits and such groups as the Girl Scouts to further our mission of Preservation, Education and Restoration of the culture and heritage of Ellicott City and Howard County.
