50th Anniversary Party

Oct 22, 2023

On October 22, 2023, we celebrated our 50th Anniversary with a memory and fun filled event. We held our event at St. John’s All Saints Hall. We had prominent speakers, including founding member and first recording secretary Sally Bright.

Displays of our history featuring our showhouses and preservation projects were highlighted. We showed the short film “We Moved a House” documenting the move of the George Ellicott House from the Wilkins Rogers Mill side of Frederick Road to the other side, and thus by doing so, saved it from further devastation from recent floods. You may view this video on YouTube. The building was beautifully preserved and still functions as an office owned by descendants of the Ellicott’s! We dined and bid on silent auction items as we reminisced over our past accomplishments. As you might be aware our preservation projects are funded by our Decorator Showhouses begun in 1984. We look forward to our next 50 years of preservation, and ask you to help us continue the mission started by the visionaries of our past.
