James and Elizabeth Stewart, 3801 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City.
A grant was made by HEC to restore the deteriorating original windows in the house. With the log structure dating back to the early 1800’s, we were happy to award this grant.
Mr. and Mrs. Stewart are lovingly and painstakingly restoring this home, including the re-chinking of the mortar on the log portion of the home. Mr. Stewart has found himself doing a great deal of the work, as finding labor and sources for the materials needed is scarce at best, not to mention the country’s ongoing supply chain issues.
